My music merges ecological themes with the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Africa and the Black diaspora, creating a unique auditory experience that speaks to the urgency of the global climate crisis. Through collaborative efforts with diverse musicians, I aim to blend cultural expression with environmental consciousness, using music as a powerful tool to inspire awareness and action.
First song, “Galamsey”, captures the destructive impact of illegal gold mining on fragile ecosystems, highlighting the urgent need for environmental justice. It is a track from my forthcoming album that explores the complex challenges of climate change and human responsibility.
Asaase Nnwom (earth Sing) is the second song; it depicts Earth as a mother facing harm, exploring human-nature connections through grief and hope themes. With root and river imagery, the music alternates between minor warnings and major resolutions, encouraging environmental reflection. The lyrics move from Earth's suffering to visions of balance, suggesting sustainability requires love, responsibility and compassion.
